How to Use the Maturation & Predicted Adult Height Calculator

Compare multiple maturation prediction equations (Mirwald, Moore, Fransen) side by side and calculate predicted adult height using the Khamis-Roche method. Supports both individual and group (team) modes with PDF/CSV report export.

Individual Mode

Analyze a single athlete's maturation in detail. Get 3-equation comparison, maturity timeline, predicted adult height, and stage-specific training considerations.

Group Mode

Enter multiple athletes at once to assess team-wide maturity distribution. Supports CSV paste and exports group reports as PDF/CSV.

Individual Mode

1

Enter Player Information

Sex — Select male or female. Available prediction equations vary by sex (Fransen is male-only).

Date of Birth — Enter the athlete's date of birth. Decimal age is auto-calculated.

Standing Height — Height measured in standing position (cm).

Body Mass — Body weight (kg).

Sitting Height — Height measured in seated position (cm). Measurement instructions are included in the tool.

2

Parental Heights

OPTIONAL

Enter father's and mother's heights to calculate Khamis-Roche predicted adult height. This method accounts for genetic factors and complements the maturation estimates. The other three equations work without parental data.

Understanding Results

3-Equation Comparison Table — Compare maturity offset (years from PHV) across Mirwald (2002), Moore (2015), and Fransen (2018) equations at a glance. Each equation's characteristics and limitations are displayed.

Maturity Timeline — Visual indicator showing whether the athlete falls in Pre-PHV, Mid-PHV (approximately 0.5 years around PHV), or Post-PHV.

Predicted Adult Height — Khamis-Roche predicted adult height with current height as a percentage of predicted mature stature.

Training Considerations — Evidence-based training programming recommendations specific to the athlete's current maturity stage (Pre/Mid/Post-PHV).

PDF Export — Download an individual report containing player info, prediction results, and training considerations.

Group Mode

1

Enter Player Data

Enter multiple athletes' data in a table format. Each row requires name, date of birth, height, weight, and sitting height.

CSV Paste — Paste data directly from Excel or Google Sheets. Header rows are automatically recognised.

Equation Selection — Choose which equation (Mirwald, Moore, Fransen) to use for group analysis. Fransen supports males only.

Group Results

Results Table — View all athletes' maturity offset, maturity stage (Pre/Mid/Post-PHV), and predicted adult height in one screen.

Maturity Distribution Chart — Visualizes the proportion of Pre-PHV, Mid-PHV, and Post-PHV athletes within the team.

Group Timeline — Compare all athletes' maturity positions on a single timeline.

Export — Download results as a PDF group report or CSV file.
